2010 Isles of Shoals - Kayak Trips

 

Mothership Kayaking

Previous kayaking experience is required!
(All trips are limited to 17 kayak)

This trip to the Isles of Shoals has proven to be one of our most popular events!

Cruise from downtown Newburyport aboard the 48-foot cabin cruiser, the Erica Lee II. We gear-up at sunrise, load the Mothership with
the kayaks and leave port around 8:30am and arrive at the Isles around 10am. In the morning we all paddle together exploring several of the Islands.
Bird watching and seal sightings are the highlights of this portion of the paddle.

After lunch, the paddle becomes less structured and the group may break into several smaller pods to explore separately. Paddle
around the Mothership in Gosport Harbor or head over to close by Star Island for ice cream or Smuttynose Island. For the more
adventurous, join a guided pod to White Island  or Lunging Island. The Mothership will "pull anchor" at 3:00pm and
head back to Newburyport , arriving around 4:30pm.

These tours usually sell out quickly, so don't hesitate to make your reservations now!

IMPORTANT: For all Isles of Shoals trip, please arrive at our shop no later than 7am for sigh-in.

Also open to Kayak Fishermen!

Those that are Kayak Fishing will depart the Mothership last and will put-in at Gosport Harbor.
This group will be lead separately by a Kayak fishing guide.

$95/person - Non kayaker

Price includes: Transportation to and from the Isles, kayak rental and equipment, bait and tackle if fishing

Paddles at the Isles of Shoals

New this year!  Tours at the Isles of Shoals for advanced and beginner paddlers alike! Similar to our Mothership kayaking
paddles, this is an all-day event but the difference is.... beginners can join too! 

Tour group sizes may be smaller and the itinerary will be less structured. Depending on the size and ability of the group, the
guides and clients design their day accordingly.

Cruise from the northern point of Plum Island aboard the 78-foot Lydia yacht, the Captain's Lady. We gear-up at sunrise, load the
Captain's Lady with kayaks and leave port around 7:00am. We arrive at the dock at Star Island around 8:00am. The kayaks are
unloaded and carried to the beach where an orientation and trip planning is conducted. Beginners can stay in the protection of
Gosport Harbor  while the more advanced paddlers might choose to explore the outer Isles with a guide. We pull anchor at
3:00pm and head back to Newburyport , arriving around 4:30pm.
